The 88th Annual Academy Awards are being handed out Sunday night in Hollywood.
Amy was named best documentary feature at the 88th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday night.
The film beat out Cartel Land, The Look of Silence, What Happened, Miss Simone? and Winter on Fire: Ukraine's Fight for Freedom in the category.
Producers Asif Kapadia and James Gay-Rees accepted the statuette, paying tribute to the film's late subject, singer Amy Winehouse. Kapadia called Winehouse "funny, intelligent, witty — someone special, someone who needed looking after," adding, "We just wanted to make a film to show the world who she really was."
Gay-Rees added: "This is for Amy’s fans, who loved her through thick and thin."
The Oscars are being handed out at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Chris Rock is hosting.
